Maybe this is why the kids watch TV with the closed captioning turned on?? Don't have to worry about missing something when the volume is out of balance.

That's fair. Not sure why there'd be a discrepancy.
My pet peeve is shows where the music is too loud and the dialogue too quiet. Maybe TV just has general volume issues?
