Unbelievable story – and such a contrast to the way other staff at stadiums have reacted. I still remember how an off-duty doctor worked with team staff to save Fabrice Muamba in 2012. 💔

It was great to become Chartered with the @cipr.co.uk last week. It was a rigorous, but enjoyable assessment day, with sessions around ethics, leadership and strategy.

For any PR leaders who have been too busy to get chartered (as I always was!) I would recommend putting some time aside for it.

What a nonsense statement though. In what way has the UK been a ‘one nation experiment in open borders’? Our borders are in no way open, and almost every country in the world has increased migration in the last decade.

Why hasn’t the government pushed this more? I don’t get it…

Likely the announcement that Doncaster-Sheffield airport would be re-opened was enough to enable Labour to hang on to the Doncaster Mayoralty, certainly in our Doncaster focus groups it came up as a big plus for the incumbent mayor. Lesson - Government showing it can do things is popular.

I tried to give away my mum’s three wheel walker and Facebook took the post down (against guidelines to give away mobility aids, apparently). Let us know if you find success…

That last line ‘the questions aren’t going away’ - I hope that’s true 😞

A really interesting report from the @cipr.co.uk here. The UK is strikingly poor on transparency around lobbying, but it’s in everyone’s interest to know who’s influencing who… 👏

At just 0.5% of all registered lobbyists across 9 jurisdictions, Westminster's lobbying register is critically inadequate at tracking who is influencing our elected officials.

Our 'No Rules Britannia?' report analyses Westminster's lobbying regime and the case for reform.

I’m all for plot twists and cliffhangers, but if #Severance doesn’t explain itself in next week’s finale episode, I might sever the whole series out of my own brain 🧠

Thanks for responding. But perhaps it’s not sick pay, but general approaches to making a job work for someone with health issues. All of this is against a backdrop of UK employers trying to streamline their workforce and be as productive as possible… perhaps there’s the conflict 🤷‍♀️
anniegoss.bsky.social
Is employer approach a potential reason for the difference?
Could it be that the increase in various health issues are similar, but people in other countries feel more able to work despite some ill health?

Interesting study from @cipr.co.uk - although the majority of pros are women, men are more likely to become leaders.

“We identified a culture within practice that exhausts women through constant pressure to prove their worth, manage impossible expectations, and navigate gendered double standards.”

The study examines the shortfall of nearly 4,000 female PR practitioners who left the industry mid-career or failed to advance to senior roles.
