Something 2d pokemon does well is "oo what's that over there?" It's good at making you want to look at everything. The bad part of that after gen 4, they forgot to actually make these areas. A lot of "what's that" and it's a load of NOTHING. Missed opportunities and only failed promises.

What the actual fuck Ecosia? I switched over to DuckDuck when image searches started showing a lot more AI when searching for reference art and I couldn't turn it off. They could never prove they were planting trees and needed to show me ads in order to fund it. "Turn off ad block" fuck you!

That's the nightmare of liminal spaces in that they're designed to get you lost. If you turned around, it would be dramatically different and you couldn't be sure if you already went that way. Everything looks so similar, rather than having unique center pieces to ground you in reality.
