Hi 👋 I'm new here. I'm a local and state gov't nerd. I'll mostly be sharing all things #Ypsilanti.

Fun Ypsilanti fact: we were once home to the Detroit Lions training site: aadl.org/ypsigleaning...

Happy Thanksgiving & and let's go Lions! 💙🏈 @detroitlions.bsky.social

Did a thing here in my low-density city of Ann Arbor. Thanks for coming out and hearing me speak to how being neighborly can be anti-racist work, and how when we oppose density we oppose people we should know and care about.

For many reasons, Avalon Housing's new 206 N. Washington project in Ypsilanti City means so much to me and our entire community.

Right here in Washtenaw County people are standing up and speaking out.

How have you fought the Trump regime today?
"Residents packed a meeting of the Washtenaw County (Michigan) Board of Commissioners Wednesday night.

"Many became emotional as they pleaded with county officials to protect immigrants...

'We don’t want you to cave from the pressure you are under'...”

FAA says a military helicopter collided with the American Airlines passenger jet from Wichita near DCA.

There must be immediate hearings on how the federal government/Department of Defense allowed this to happen and if removal of safety protocols and recent personnel changes led to this incident.

If this all seems confusing and poorly planned, that's because it is. The Trump administration doesn't care about the Americans who will be hurt. To them, that's the cost of doing business to score political points.

The Constitution is clear that Trump cannot freeze this funding passed by Congress.

This illegal scheme undermines Congress’s power of the purse and is a blatant attack on our system of checks and balances.

So much for the party of law and order.

So it turns out government grant funding is actually very critical for public safety, protecting our environment, the health & well-being of Americans, our neighborhoods, making sure people have food, job programs, infrastructure and a whole lot more.

You know, basic functioning of our society.

The Inspector General Act of 1978 was a key anti-corruption policy passed by Democrats.

Trump is trying to eliminate honest inspector generals to make it easier for him and his donors to steal from the American people.
Inspectors General are fighting back, collectively. Thank goodness.

The Michigan Senate just passed a resolution authorizing legal action against the House Speaker for violating the Michigan Constitution.

By holding back these bills, the Republicans not only violate our Constitution, they also raise costs for hundreds of thousands of families in Michigan.

In Lansing, Republicans are still holding up 9 bills that already passed the House and Senate. They should be on the Governor's desk. This is unconstitutional & illegal.

These bills reduce costs for teachers, improve benefits for corrections officers, and more:

Michigan Republicans are starting out 2025 by attacking teachers, firefighters, police officers, corrections officers, and every public employee.

They are holding back bills to lower healthcare costs, allow COs to get a pension, and more.

The Speaker doesn't get to veto bills already passed.
