#A2Council Read this & reflect on Council’s decision to set a low unit-density cap that happens to cover all the neighborhoods previously “protected” by racially restrictive covenants or were otherwise historically exclusive… as an attempt to appease “Pause the Plan” people (who were not appeased).
Great piece on how density restrictions in zoning are essentially BS.

In 1975, Ann Arbor was the 1st city in the US to use Ranked Choice Voting to elect a mayor. Dr. Wheeler was the 1st Black tenured professor at the University of Michigan and only Black #A2Council mayor to date. But just months later, opponents moved to repeal RCV and silence the will of the voters:
