Abolish ICE is not an absurdity statement. ICE was created in 2003 as a response to 9/11 - we do not need it. We already established that following orders isn't an excuse.

Update: DHS — whose officers conducted this detention — did not answer questions. It instead directed us to the White House.

Agents told him his visa was revoked. He said he had a green card. They were confused—then said that was revoked too.
His attorney demanded a warrant. Agents hung up instead.

He is a legal permanent resident with a green card, and his wife is 8 months pregnant. He has been harassed by law enforcement and the university for months. It’s a disgusting racist targeting and it’s meant to scare you into silence.

Columbia is welcoming ICE agents into their campus, with or without warrants, and instructing faculty not to interfere with their operations to arrest, harass, or deport students.

Really hoping that this helps forestall some of the discrimination character and fitness committees are perpetrating in evaluating the fitness of anti-genocide activists.
Today, we, along with Pal Legal, NLG, ADC, CCR, the Palestinian American Bar Association, and the Climate Defense Project sent a letter to C&F committees across the US warning that discrimination against pro-Palestinian activists violates anti-discrimination laws and constitutional protections.
