I will try to report back!!
anotheramanda.bsky.social
I can handle that. I used to be able to suffer more often while reading but I'm fresh out of that need right now!

I'll put it on my list
anotheramanda.bsky.social
Is it going to make me sad? It sounds a bit sad!

Why don't we have more good journalism?

Mostly, because people are unwilling to pay for it.

We have, collectively, gotten the idea that information should be free for the reading.

You can't complain about lousy reporting & analysis and also gripe about paywalls.

The MOST awkward presentation I've ever seen-Phee wanted nothing to do with her and I thought it was all CBA but the statement brings more context

AUDIBLE whoa on video after this quote.

According to Phee, Cathy said: “Caitlin should be grateful she makes $16 million off the court because without the platform that the WNBA gives her, she wouldn’t be making anything.”

I'm a lynx fan who really wanted Dream to go through to finals!!! I will definitely join the party, but it was such a fun season! I'm sad for the players but enjoyed it so much

They are the same org that said injuries weren't up this year, and they are, demonstrably.

They need to start paying and investing in their players.

I do not think many fans think that call (or non call) decided the game.

They lose in the physical match up and it's totally in their heads. Their spacing has been terrible. Coaching (rare) mistakes probably lost game 2.
anotheramanda.bsky.social
It's not particularly uneven by calls, but it was kinda strange what they chose to call.

I think it gets in their head, and that is their bad, but hard when you are the smaller team in the match up too.

It was maddening to hear they "voted because of fear"

Meanwhile, everyone on the no list has had the worst threats against them in their time in office.

And my word, I hate Angie craig.
anotheramanda.bsky.social
I don't get this comment - would they need voting if it was based on stats? She's a huge disruption for offense. But aside from that she does have some stats - holding players to the lowest field goal % etc.

I think both players are deserving - and there are so many great W athletes!

This. The committee was full of skeptics before who wanted proof of safety and efficacy --- who it has now are denialists at one end, non-expert conspiracy theory believers -- appointed rather than rigorously vetted.

Stop co-opting the word skeptic.

The assault on science continues, and the @nytimes.com enables it by giving them the moniker of “skeptics”.

No. Skeptics don’t blindly trust claims or anecdotes, they want proof. People who ignore a vast body of evidence are deniers, not skeptics.

Buy a f*cking dictionary 🤦🏻‍♂️

CDC committee members, some of whom are vaccine skeptics, are likely to recommend restricting the use of hepatitis B shots at birth or delaying them. The vaccine is credited by public health experts with nearly eliminating maternal transmission of the disease in the U.S.

i feel so bad for people who were close with Speaker Hortman, to have to watch her name get used like a political football this week

our legislators are traumatized, I honestly can't imagine what this session will be like but I hope the state is offering some sort of assistance

I love his markings. So beautiful!!

Hey sorry I missed this. I thought it was really weird because I read they aren't supposed to. It didn't make me feel good. (Especially bc that list of reasons isn't really finite?)
anotheramanda.bsky.social
And Read it?
"When we decline to speak ill of the dead, it’s because we have compassion for the living. In this respect, I am sorry for Kirk’s children. I don’t know if Kirk was a good father, but if he was, that does little to mitigate the damage he did to other people’s children."

I'm the lonely one though! And I do actually love my cat. And every cat I've had.

They deserve to grieve, and they deserve my empathy. Charlie Kirk does not have nor deserve my mourning, I save my empathy and energy for the system he created and those he harmed. And I can say a meaningful change in gun control to prevent this type of tragedy would be much better than a statue.

I just opened up bsky again and... OMG.
anotheramanda.bsky.social
This is the best piece I've read on this -especially to clarify what to do with our empathy when someone who deserves no mourning dies.

Yeah I could understand if it was different Walgreens vs CVS. Walgreens definitely documented it for him.
