Very exciting used bookstore find! Getting ready for my October reading so the timing is perfect. Won’t be the only @sgj.bsky.social book(s) I read next month either. #BookSky 📚💙

Picked up my pre-ordered copy of Katabasis at @kingsbookstore.bsky.social today when I dropped my daughter off at her dorm. Very excited to dive into this tomorrow. #BookSky📚💙

Recently listened to the audiobook version of Staircase in the Woods and really enjoyed it. Also loved Wanderers and Wayward. Always give starred reviews (just the stars) on Goodreads and Storygraph and share on Facebook and Bluesky.

I think it ended up being a mink that had escaped from a local mink farm.

AUFA have reached a tentative agreement with Acadia University.

We were very pleased to share this with our membership last week. To read a small statement from our lead negotiator:

What are you reading there?

Not just lying, but blatant, obvious, bald face, ridiculous lying. It’s incredible. Enough to drive people crazy.

Don’t dare run any power equipment in this tinderbox we’re living in, so it’s a good day to sit outside with a book and keep an eye on the chicks.
Copy of Good Omens on my knee with 5 chicks in the grass in the background.

Nova Scotia is in serious need of some rain right now. I don’t think I’ve ever seen the brook on our property this dry.
Dry brook bed. Just dry stones where there is usually flowing water.

There's a point in this episode when David Suzuki says, "I just take the science seriously," and I want this written on my headstone.

I'm very tired of federal & provincial decisions based on money vibes. Can we please get some research-backed policies about *gestures wildly at everything*

Sitting on the back deck listening to Randy Newman (Sail Away (1972), keeping an eye on the ducks and chickens, hanging with the pooch, drinking a cold beer, and reading @tkingfisher.com ‘s A House with Good Bones. Despite the hellscape that is our world right now, it’s a good day.
