yes! it's like everyone's in a rush, but seriously why? there is no rush. unless you're about to birth a child, cool yer jets.

I think they don't want to be bothered with two roll outs. I suspect someone expressed a concern about "vaccine fatigue." Jokes on them - the people waiting for the Covid shot will also get the flu shot. And, if you did a Covid vaccine roll-out in anticipation of school, you might get more uptake.

This is exactly who people are right now. A man in a municipal vehicle (big Halifax branding on the side) got upset with me because I was crossing the road at an intersection with lights. I had the right-of-way & he was eager to turn left. At least he decided not to hit me.

It's really outrageous. I can't tell if it's administrative incompetence or a complete disregard for the public.

I think it was last year that the booking site went live before they made an announcement 🫥 I've heard that other pharmacies have been giving out the same timeline, so unless the pharmacies have bad info (which is totally possible)

i think everyone feels the same way. the general conversation with people goes like: "lovely weather we're having... but we could use rain!"

it's going to be another bizarrely hot day in Nova Scotia.
A picture of a tree next to a street. The leaves are orange and red. The sky is clear blue and the sun is shining.

#BikeHfx and @suzannerent.bsky.social (who wrote on this): Had thought new developments in Halifax were required to provide accommodations for pedestrians when encroaching on space. This development at Windsor/Young is not doing that, and it's gonna be here for awhile.

Where do we stand on this?
A development blocks a sidewalk. There is a "Sidewalk Closed" sign with no noticeable accommodations for pedestrians

well, one local pharmacy posted on their social media that it would be mid-October, but other people heard on the CBC that it would be November 🫠

Alberta us definitely a mess. I'm glad you managed to get vaccinated! So far in NS, we haven't even had an announcement about flu or Covid vaccines.
sujo.bsky.social
if they open booking soon for mid-October, it'll be the same as last year. But, if they're waiting until November, it's later. I'm surprised they don't at least try to align with NB.

The Covid vaccine rollout across Canada, but especially in Nova Scotia, is about administrative ease, not infection control, population health, or public health. We know there's an annual wave around September, yet nothing changes. Another year of failure.

We can remember Goodall’s accomplishments and legacy while recognizing that National Geographic created a narrative that erased the local people who contributed to her research. Her African colleagues deserve to be credited, not erased (10/10).
