Re-intro time. I'm a forensic psychologist & train clinicians doing mental health services w/ people in the legal system. Big into making science accessible & transparent, mentoring w/ kindness, & checking our biases in evaluations.

We had to delay our prior postdocs’ mock expert testimony, but it worked out great bc the incoming postdocs got to watch. Admin loved this setup, but it only works if we keep hiring our postdocs as faculty.

Once submitted a Major Revision, 3 page review that was critical but supportive. The other review when I submitted was Accept As Is with only the words "Nice manuscript" as the review.

The response was pretty pissy at me & kept noting the other reviewer had no issue w/ the things I was noting.

Data for 1-3 must be publicly disclosed for APA accredited programs so should be easily accessible. #4 might take an email to the DCT since programs don’t have to get that specific on financial aid

As former PsyD faculty, I’ll say:

1) cohort size (more than 15-20 & have to ask yourself what mentoring & oversight there is)
2) accredited internship match rates should be at or near 100%
3) completion rate
4) funding support (how & # guaranteed years)

My family was rooting for my daughter to be born on my late dad's bday. Me? I thought it'd be nice for them to have their own days.

She arrived just past midnight the day after my dad's bday.

I knew I'd like this kid. 4 years later, I love & like her more & more each day.

Not questioning whether task needs human judgment instead.
