Data suggest the salmon chowder was a hit:

1) All adults went for seconds
2) The baby put more in his mouth than on our pants
3) The 4 y/o’s complaint was that hers ran out of salmon

My favorite local bakery has a key lime pie filled croissant at the moment. When things around you are so heavy, take in the little joys.

Cheese sticks of smoked gouda, parm, & ricotta out of the freezer, resisted w flour, then egg wash, panko, & fry. Creamy, cheesy goodness. #FoodSky

Even rarer than holiday fried shrimp are the fried cheese sticks. Filling is a blend of smoked gouda, parm, & ricotta. The key is flouring & freezing a few hours before fry time. This protects the filling enough to not ooze out when frying but also not too frozen so it’s not cold when done.

Remembering last year's Thanksgiving & holidays where Bluesky had an influx of activity, like we were all distracting each other before an upcoming funeral. I'm thankful for that & this community.

Now back to smoking salmon for a Christmas Eve pasta dish. Happy Holidays, everyone.

With our forensic fellows, so far we’ve had breakfast burritos at sunrise (failed balloon fiesta launch), checked out a new coffeeshop/bar/event space, and walked through the holiday light display at the botanical gardens. Local hockey game next month & more adventures for the year!
