Realised I didn't add the picture, here it is
An excel spreadsheet containing the known candidates for the 2026 SA state election.

Also here's an updated candidate list without Odenwalder and Wortley. Means we'll have to see who Labor chooses to field in Elizabeth and Torrens.

Yep! I'll link my SA party tracker here; they applied a couple of weeks ago, just before the deadline hit. Them, the Libertarians, and the Australian Citizens Party are the three parties still waiting for registration approval.

New South Australian politics tracker update. Another small one, coming as the SA Socialists have announced some of their public transport policies, including free transportation and establishing a 'turn up and go' model.

Interestingly, I've never heard it here in South Australia.

Small update on the tracker today, looking at a new policy from an independent for Murray Bridge's hospital. Imo, these small updates about candidates who won't get mainstream news time are the bread and butter of the tracker!

You make an excellent point, I may have misread the actual prompt of the entire thing (I thought it was just top 100 books ever). I am now going to go sit in shame that I somehow did not notice this at all.

Decided to finalise my votes as well. I've got some fiction from my childhood, some historical books that I think are excellent/mean alot to me, and also a couple bits of fiction that hit hard (shocked Didion didn't even make the long list at all).
My votes for Radio Nationals top 100 books;

- Slouching Towards Bethlehem (Joan Didion)
- The Biggest Estate on Earth (Bill Gammage)
- Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (Rick Riordan)
- Bennelong and Phillip: A History Unravelled (Kate Fullagar)
- Skulduggery Pleasant (Derek Landy)
- A Game of Thrones (George R.R. Martin)
- The Colony: A History of Early Sydney (Grace Karskens)
- The Reds: The Communist Party of Australia from origins to illegality (Stuart Macintyre)
- The Secret Army and the Premier (Andrew Moore)
- House of Leaves (Mark Z. Danielewski)

Agreed, I'm shocked that the only Henry Reynolds book on the long list, for example, is Truth-Telling. You'd think Forgotten War would've ended up on there, at the very least. Same for other 'big name' AusHist books like Tyranny of Distance etc.

New SA politics tracker update is out! This time, I'm letting myself get excited over the potential for the 2026 state election to be a public transport election, even if I know it won't be in the end.

It's Brisbane City Council's 100th birthday today so to celebrate I looked at its elected constitution.

And in that time, the number of Councillors has barely changed. Brisbane's population has grown by 575% since 1924 but the number of elected representatives have only grown by 77%.

Caught a photo of of the Adelaide Uni merger as I walked to my office. Nexus 10 losing its University of Adelaide signage, in preparation for the new one. The merger only gets closer by the day.

A photo of Nexus 10 in Adelaide, as the University of Adelaide sign is removed to make room for the new Adelaide University sign.

Woke up today to see Joe Hildebrand (of the Daily Telegraph) labelling Tom Koutsantonis as Labor's 'saviour' for being pro-business, "not beholden to extreme climate ideology", "devoutly religious and conservative", and very, very anti-woke. The SA Labor is having a week, isnt it.

I'm voting in UQ's Senate election today for the three alumni seats and it's a masterclass in terrible electoral design.

For one it uses the terrible perversion that is the FPTP method of election multiple members in a seat.

is worth a follow if South Aussies are interested in the local election scene.
His stats are interesting.
anthonyzougras.bsky.social
With Mali also talking about his issues with woke ideologies (and anti-woke ideology tbf) and how anti-gas politicians are 'eco-purists', it seems like the SA Labor party is taking a concentrated move Right through the centre. Interesting with the election coming to say the least.

Labor MP Tom Koutsantonis, South Australia's new treasurer, has told The Australian he is "very worried about that type of woke agenda"

"Young men used to make up a big cohort of Labor voters...a lot feel as if they have no voice representing them from any party," he said
