So, like, there's this reel on fb with the long skirt turned short, etc.... but I'm Gen X, and I was doing this in the 90s...80s even.... like, it was a staple....

This is for sale on FB marketplace and for the life of me I can't figure out (for sure) what is going on here and why someone carved it:

Saw this online and the truth is this is why when people in historical dramas (and honestly even today) say it's not "natural" for a child to die before their parents I think how priviledged we are to imagine that.

Picture says In 1900, 31% of all deaths were children under the age of 5.

Today, it's .7%.

Vaccines, medications, and modern science are the reason why. Trust the science, it's been proven to work safely and effectively time and time again.

I suggested to a friend that her son might not recognize this furniture. Then because of cultural differences I realised she herself might not. And indeed, she didn't. Do YOU know what it is??

What use do you think we could put it to, now that it's original purpose is defunct.

I am fascinated by two places which seem utterly unrelated.
Newtwpothouse on the N20 road between Mallow and Buttevant, and the two-pot river near Curraheen in Cork city. They are about 44km apart. The town is *supposed* to have got its name from an Inn with two large pots by the door.. (There was an old inn and a new inn).
So I asked google about the river name, hoping someone had discussed it somewhere - it's hard to keep discussions of the house version out. So I asked "where does the river "two pot" in cork get its name exclude references to twopothouse" and the AI answered:

" The name Two Pot is an English adaptation of the Irish phrase Tua-póit. Tua-póit means "two small hills" and was the name given to two prominent small hills in the region. The hills themselves became known as "Two Pot hills," and by association, a nearby watercourse or tributary also took on the "Two Pot" name. "

The problem with this is that Tua-póit does NOT mean "two small hills". Tua is not two. Nor is it a hill. A direct dictionary translation would be "Axe-hangover" or possibly "Axe-drunk".

MEANWHILE it does on:
*Excluding the "Twopothouse"*
" While the name "Twopothouse" exists in the area, it is important to note that the river's name did not originate from the house but from the historical Irish geographical term for the hills. The name "Twopothouse" is a later development that likely took its name from the already existing "Two Pot hills". The river's name therefore predates and gives origin to both the "Twopothouse" and the localized term "Two Pot". "
Note the "area" is 44km away. There is no area called Two Pot hills.

This is a classic case of intellectual posturing by using inflated language. But is it his own abilities he is covering for, or the AI.....

Thank you for my lecture. I really enjoyed that. I didn't know that about the roots under (that's not entirely true, I've seen diagrams of "native" v "lawn" grass and so I SHOULD have known..)
