I quit ALTA and Society of Authors because of leaderships in both organizations' refusal to make a cognizant stand and I turned down every invitation and overture from them over the years—I refuse to be used in a propaganda effort to whitewash genocide, fcuk that, I came up alone and can stand alone

I was so incredibly disappointed by how racist the literary translation community was when Han Kang won the Booker in 2016 and during Korea's early entry into COVID that I was amazed that I had further capacity to be disappointed in literary translators after Oct 7 during the genocide in Gaza
