Swalwell: The stock market is crashing, and prices are rising. This guy has gone to the Super Bowl, the Daytona 500, and a UFC fight. He should go to the fucking supermarket and see what people are spending to feed themselves

Time for a primary for this Nazi enabler. GTFO Senator.
Mark Warner on Fox: "I may disagree with the president, but I respect the office of the president. I'm probably not gonna be jumping up applauding a lot, but I owe him his due as president. The president has made great, great progress on border crossings. That's something we ought to celebrate."

My brain: I think the only thing that would help my anxiety is to become an ostrich. Then I can just put my head in the sand when things get too stressful.

Me: They don’t actually put their head in sand.

My anxiety: Leopards eat ostriches. So do hyenas and leopards. Lions? Yep, they do too.

Me: 😖

Just like I tell my teenagers: It’s not a mistake when you know better and you still do it.

If this is the kind of “mistake” you make, your lack of judgment and foresight should be unelectable.

This is not only a failure to demonstrate leadership. It is an ethical failure.
BASH: You voted to approve Marco Rubio's nomination to be secretary of state. Did you make the right choice?

CHRIS MURPHY: Nope. It was a mistake. It was a mistake. I think a lot of us thought Marco Rubio was going to stand up to Trump on an issue like this.

The short, embarrassing clips from Zelenskyy’s visit to the WH made me wonder when in the press conference things went so off the rails. I watched it in its entirety today, and the whole visit was a shit show. Some less explosive parts were more disturbing than what’s being repeatedly reported.

Sen. Tommy Tuberville is calling for significant cuts to the Pentagon's budget and size. In a recent Fox News appearance, he even coined the term "trigon" for a three-sided shape.
Tuberville forgets triangles exist while advocating for Pentagon cuts: ‘We need to make a trigon’
"We need to make a trigon -- three sides -- instead of five sides in the Pentagon," he said. "It is way too big."

I’ve heard some stories recently of people complying with fascists’ demands after they were threatened.

As a violence researcher (and someone who has received a good deal of threats), everyone should know that complying will not save you. It only teaches the threatener that threats work.

Don't let Trump flood your zone. Stay focused. Keep your eye on what this corrupt regime is really doing — looting the government to line their own pockets with massive tax cuts and the ability to steer more federal contracts their way.

In preparation for today’s Super Bowl in New Orleans, state police forced over 100 homeless men and women onto buses under threat of arrest, dumping them in an unheated warehouse. Tents destroyed, belongings lost. Press are barred from the warehouse.

Alabama: In 2024, 7 schools received a total of $368 million in NIH grants. Of that, $247 million went directly to research and $121 million went to facilities and administration. The new rate would bring that to $37 million, a loss of $84 million.
