Biking to work in big tech companies in Bellevue, WA. Formerly very much C++, now very much making privacy work at scale.
I really, really want to see a bunch of Apple stans telling me with absolute confidence how inspired and necessary is the Apple R1 clone.

This is not a story about Pelosi. This is a story about 200ish members of congress. Almost half of senators and representatives openly trade stocks. "News" organizations like to pick on Pelosi because she is a leader...and a powerful woman.

Avoiding financial conflicts in Congress takes work. These lawmakers put in the extra effort — and wish more colleagues would, too.
Members of Congress can place their assets in a blind trust. Only 10 have done it.

WATCH: Seriously, if you’re following ANY bike-lane debate, you HAVE TO WATCH this news story. You actually can’t make this up. Ford claims without evidence that bike-lanes are bad for small business, and THE ACTUAL BUSINESS ASSOCIATION obliterates him with data.

Safe bike-lanes mean business.
Annex businesses tell Ford to back off Bloor bike lanes
Stores in the Annex say the Bloor bike lanes have been a big boost to business. As Michelle Mackey reports, the neighborhood's BIA wants the province to back off its new bill that could see the lanes ...

This is, and always has been, because the local chain restauranteurs complained about competition. Seattle's food scene is all Tom Douglas/Ethan Stowell/Maria Hines/Renee Erickson/Matt Dillon over and over because of lobbying. They killed the local food scene.

It looks like you're sitting on that strap but you're not, or at least I haven't noticed. The problem with that strap is when stand over the bar, it can catch on the nose of the seat when you remount. But when it rains, it's good to keep the seat covered & dry, so I try not to dismount.

These are actually quite comfy. The best thing about chaps is that, unlike rain pants, you don't have to pull them over your shoes. Rain is so inconsistent here that I don't gear up before a commute. I carry a little stuff sack with chaps, better gloves, a dry bag for the computer, etc.

RainLegs chaps aren't short but you might appreciate having kept the rain off your knees as a young'un once your knees start to rebel in a decade or two. They used to be available locally at JRA, but that shop is gone, may its memory be a blessing.

Unsolicited advice: get a battery tender. I had a little solar panel in my truck that worked for years. Now that I have a garage, I had to switch to a traditional plug-in model. Still worth it.
