Can we find a better word for a post on blue sky other than "skeet"? It already has an entry on urban dictionary and it's...not great. (I'm all for potty humor but it just kinda feels like we're accidentally creating the same vibe that twitter currently has)

Got to check on my girls Friday with a new little friend! 🐱 A couple handfuls of my bees were hanging out on the entrance of the hive due to the heat and humidity. They have some good honey stores so I'm hopeful they'll weather out the tropical storm all right! 🐝
A shorthaired cat sitting next to some bushes. It has a grey tuxedo pattern and yellow eyes. Body is facing right but head is swiveled over it's right shoulder to look at the left side of the picture. Some honey bees hanging out together on the entrance wall of their hive. The wall is a blue grey color. Another angle of the bees hanging out on the entrance wall of the hive but zoomed out so you can see the entrance and front porch of the hive. Lots of bees are on the porch or are just inside the entrance. A drone bee sitting on the roof of the hive. He's a lot fatter than his sisters and has really massive eyes that practically touch each other. These eyes make him really good at spotting queens to mate with.

Does anyone know when we earn invite codes? I have some friends I wanna invite and Google is saying we're supposed to get one once a week. But, I've been here over 7 days and haven't received one. Is it given out on a certain day of the week?

The local fair ended a couple days ago, but thought people might like to see the Minecraft bee box that I submitted to our local association's hive painting competition! 🐝🎨

Brought my nice camera along for my weekly hive check. Check out my girlies! 🐝
Honey bees crawling out between hive frames A nurse bee feeding larva. Larva in different stages of development and capped brood are also seen. Workers crawling around capped brood and three brand new adult bees beginning to hatch from their cells Bees gathered at the entrance of the hive. Some have their butts raised in the air to release a warning pheromone indicating the hive is being attacked. (Hive is not actually being attacked, they just don't like me disturbing them for their weekly checkup)

Why do you go by the handle you do?

My father (such as he was), was described in one of the many reports from my childhood as "A Raucous and volatile man who disturbs and perturbs most of those around him"
