Checking out the world
I’m very anti religion but I have finished visiting all the Camino Real missions.
the trail of cultural / human eradication these facilities perpetrated is wild.

The facilities are very impressive and the people all very nice. Go see these places

The degree of success that a Leavenworth Christmas train would have just seems like leaving a pile of money on the table for the State of Washington.

Today I learned (in a conversation with @staterepjuliareed.bsky.social about her new bill, HB 2095) that in Washington a driver is currently presumed liable for a collision if they strike a bridge, but not if they strike and harm someone walking on a sidewalk.

Hi new followers-
Several years ago I decided to start documenting how regularly people in my city of Seattle were getting hurt while trying to get around via walking or biking, in as close to real-time as possible.

In response to consistent feedback I'm going to continue on this platform.

HAPPENING NOW: A group of protesters have reportedly taken over the intersection on Beacon Hill where someone on a bike was killed by a hit-and-run driver early this morning.

I'm not on the scene yet, but was sent this photo from Beacon Avenue and Stevens Street.

Riding the Washington ferries is always great.
It’s like a low cost catered scenic boat tour.

Gussying up seven lane surface highways with parallel planter strips and medians isn’t enough for station areas. The transportation paradigm has to be different. It has to be designed for pedestrians first.

Spend more money on these @wsdot.wa.gov
They are amazing but in need of electrification and expansion.

Send us tax payers the bill we will happily pay.
Or better yet stop building so many fucking highways all over the place and use that money.

Rahmanulla Lakanwal is the National Guard shooting suspect.

Interesting that there were 36 searches for his exact name.

4 hours before the shooting.

I bet Stephen Miller knows why.

This almost happened in the late 1980s, but was scuttled due to opposition from within Broadmoor and in Madison Park, on top of concerns about impacts to the wetlands around Foster Island.
Would also love a connected, flat bike route instead of Madison park just being cut off

Washington ferries are wonderful.
However, I wish they would move boldly into the future and electrify them now.

For now at least, @wsdot.wa.gov is stubbornly clinging to the past rather than pushing to build a wonderful future.
