Hello there, I'm J!
About a month ago I started working on a solo project, a roguelike about a little minion trying to prove himself.

This all started because I was feeling stuck in my daily routine and it was killing my creativity.
I felt like I was losing my passion for creating games. [1/3]
5 months without a salary, broken promises, "we'll find a way to pay every one" and a HUGE pile of lies and disrespect.

Today I quit. I was Senior Game Designer, but I've never really felt like one. I'm tired. Burnt out.

But I still want to CREATE. Let my rage transform into love for this project.

Mutations choice cards are up and running!

I'm pretty satisfied about how they turned out (mutation artworks are still to be done as you can tell), except for the text style/placement.
I'll play around a bit and hopefully make a video soon. Hope you like them!!

Long time no see!

Lots of stuff happened in my life, but the project is far from dead. I've resumed working on it, so now we have:
• Improved combat feeling
• HUD with abilities (still wip)
• ABILITIES!
• Enemies' health bar will change color when you can devour them!

Update: I found it, already seen it personally and i LOVE IT, so now onto the next steps.
It's hard to focus on game development right now because so many things are happening in my life.
Project development is going a bit slow because I'm in the process of finding a new house... to buy? And it's wild. I don't even know if I feel truly ready to take this step and it's hard to balance work, house hunting and game development for this project.

Demon Souls Fan Art I did a while ago because well…I’m a souls obsessed nerd. 😌 I think I created this after playing the remake on PS5 and was so inspired by everything about it. Would love to one day do some Bloodborne fan art, but I love to sit on my couch recently. The time will come.

I am once again here to tell you to BACKUP your projects and have some form of version control.
Physical copies, cloud copies, Git branches and all of the above.

You can be a game dev, an artist, a journalist or whatever else, backups will be there when you need them the most.

Made some improvements on basic combat, added a knockback to attacks + hit reaction and made a dissolving mesh VFX on enemy death! Bonus dance at the end of the video!!

Kinda depressing how much effort and time a game dev MUST put into trying to reach an audience on social medias, only to be seen by a bunch of people at best, especially in the beginning.

Man, I just wanna make games and show them to people, why must I stress so much about algorithms and engagement

This is one of the first illustrations and key art I did 8 years ago when I started worldbuilding Scavenger, which later evolved into a full RPG setting for DnD 5E.

Honestly I'm having a lot of fun with the new Pokémon TCG Pocket app and I hope it will bring more players to the TCG world!!
Battles are short and simplified, so I see a lot of potential 👀

As a game designer I've never properly touched animations, so being able to create a rig retargeter from the UE mannequin to my custom character was A BLAST (except for that damn tail that I will need to animate separately)
