The gasometer at newstead, considered the largest of its kind when laclede gas built it (until the next one) was really unpopular when it opened. And not many tears were shed by its removal.

It was odd. I was actually coming from the angle that the project would be good as a hook for marketing to would be transplants and college students.

I don't see this as controversial.

It seems textbook new urbanism, but I guess you're a cynic if you think there's layers to why regional interests build new bike routes
