Agreed, Ketan. I had [incorrectly] thought any exceedance above 30% would require them to buy 'offsets' from the gov at that $75 plus CPI price.
Disappointed to find on re-read that this is not the case!

Hey Greg, any thoughts on how US tariffs may affect the trade with other markets? Whilst US domiciled manufacturers may enjoy the insulated market and supply shortfalls, does that lead to overcapacity to other markets?

Good thread, Glen - water temps are what matter. And whilst water temp may be less sensitive to short-term ambient temperatures, the seasonal shifts can be impactful.

Agree this is a big unknown. Assuming a 20kWh/100km range, do we think households will plug in the car everyday to replenish the battery? Or will it just be an effective ICE vehicle? Wide range of emission outcomes here, pending behavioural patterns.

Respectfully disagree. Look at the nighttime profile (say 12am-6am). It's clear something else is also eating gas' lunch. PV+BESS is not alone here.

Think we all agree the position we are in shameful.
Question is what's next. If we do open new supply, how does it stay here? And even if that molecule does stay in Vic, the molecule that used to come from Moomba->VIC will now go ->Gladstone to fill a half empty LNG plant.
