My experience: a packed theater opening night, all of us wondering whether the movie was going to be ok, great, a hot mess. The lights go down, pitch black screen, we hear a woman [Galadriel] speaking Sindarin. Then the LOTR title screen comes up and the entire crowd screamed and cheered. We knew!
I saw "Fellowship of the Ring" on opening night with @stinapag.bsky.social. Neither of us had read the books. We had to go to a second theater because the first one was sold out. End of the movie, after we'd been in the theater for nearly 4 hours, the woman next to us yelps, "That's it?!?"
Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?
Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.

- Limits courts ability to block illegal ICE conduct.

I do not understand what the US government (military at least) is doing. Except that people seem to be trying to start a war with Venezuela. And I don't understand why they are doing that either, or on what authority; I suppose we will find out that this too was at the whim of the commander in chief

Great thread on the petty and stupid cruelty of the Trump admin, which makes their own lives more difficult for no reasons other than to hit vague goals of putting people into removal proceedings.
1/ One thing that I think is getting understandably overlooked in the coverage of immigration overenforcement is just how wasteful and inefficient ICE is being even when they aren't kidnapping and caging people who should be with their families.
