A lot of people are trying to justify their own desire to surrender to Trump early in the year
I am annoyed by the persistence of 'resist libs are tired of resisting Trump' line.

No Kings put record-breaking numbers of people into the streets, specials/off-years are at D+10 or more.

I don't think the resist libs are tired. I think some writers are tired of writing about resist libs.

The mainstream media has been virtually completely captured by people who like Trump and want him to win, and who protect him by constantly, unceasingly minimizing and obfuscating everything negative about his presidency.

If anything, accusations of pro-Trump media bias in 2024 were grossly understated. It's a remarkably clear tell that the media has gone from breathlessly obsessed with Biden's age and health to utterly disinterested in Trump's (clearly much worse and actually disqualifying) age and health.
The President of the United States appears to be getting regular IV infusions, the public doesn’t know anything about it, & the DC media evidently doesn’t care.

We are months into the mystery of Trump’s hands, the White House is lying, & I’ve seen a grand total of one serious news story about it.
Trump looked pretty rough today -- note that both of his hands are discolored

Big congratulations to the “no new wars” crowd.

You weren’t the only ones who willfully forgot Trump’s first term, ignored various things he and his team said in the four years after, and voted for a made up version—or didn’t vote while claiming it wouldn’t matter—but no one did it as hard as you.

Remember when Harris proposed covering at home care for the elderly as part of Medicare and the press yawned?
To @asociologist.bsky.social's point, I'm NOT saying home healthcare jobs are inherently bad. I'm saying these jobs are currently undesirable because--w/ care's cost disease and w/o big public investment--home healthcare can't be both affordable for people who need it and adequately compensated. 4/

US citizens don't want home healthcare jobs. Not because they don't care about the elderly. But because the jobs are underpaid, overworked, and exploitative.

Take Sylvia, a mom I interviewed who took a home healthcare job because it was her only option, then left it as soon as she could. 1/🧵

This is about outcomes when water breaks too early: "After the law went into effect, termination was only an option in Texas if the mother's life was endangered. Risk of serious adverse outcomes overall increased from 24% to 38.5%, while rates of sepsis jumped from 9.4% to 29.2%."
A growing body of research indicates that Texas's restrictive abortion bans have negatively impacted the health and lives of Texas women and babies in multiple ways. Across the board, pregnancy outcomes and complications have worsened.
What researchers have discovered about maternal, infant health under Texas' abortion laws
In the more than four years since the state of Texas significantly restricted access to abortion, medical researchers have been studying the health effects of that policy change.

Republicans have held a Supreme Court majority since 1974, no matter what the mood of the country is, and I think people have finally had enough. Ford gets a pick during his 2 years, Carter got none during his 4. The lifetime selection, random lottery of deaths and retirements doesn't serve us well.

The US is at war with Venezuela.

No Congressional authorization, no public debate, no clearly stated goal, no casus belli, and a gradual ramp up rather than big opening, so many haven’t noticed (or deny it). But this attack removes the ambiguity.

US is at war with Venezuela. With no end in sight.

I've updated my piece to reflect CNN's new reporting that the CIA conducted a drone strike earlier this month on a port facility on the coast of Venezuela, citing "sources familiar with the matter." (Their report doesn't include a date for alleged strike. CIA/WH/US Special Forces haven't confirmed.)
Trump says US bombed alleged drug facility in Venezuela. No one knows if it’s true.
It could be a lie from social media, or a conflation of other stories. Either way, Americans need to know.

Reminder that years ago it was found out that the FBI straight up made up a whole bunch of fake forensic sciences, plural. People have gone to jail and been executed due to literally pseudoscience.

Hair forensics, for instance, is totally nonsense.

They admitted it.

What pisses me off is the keyboard warriors who screamed endlessly about Gaza doing nothing to keep him from becoming president again.
Bibi is right that no POTUS has been as pro (right-wing) Israel as Trump.

Apparent in Trump Term 1, when he abandoned bipartisan US policy to move the embassy to Jerusalem and cut funding for an E. Jerusalem hospital, among other things.

But American voters didn't think that mattered. Or liked it.
Netanyahu: We've never had a friend like President Trump in the White House. It's not even close. I think Israel is very blessed to have President Trump leading the United States.
