Ideas aren't born in pristine originality. They explode when a familiar pattern is bent at just the right angle. And if that bothers you, ask yourself, would you rather clinging to a fantasy about being original or actually make something that people can't stop talking about?

Evolutionary psychologists have claimed that "humans evolved heightened sensitivity to harm directed at women." This excellent (albeit at times gruesome) post makes the point that the ethnographic evidence does not really support this narrative.
Did humans evolve to 'protect' women?
Ethnography complicates a convenient narrative

This thread means absolutely nothing when we've seen people getting banned on a whim. Lists being turned off, turned back on, etc.

"We would police people guys, really, we just don't have the time.....except for you, you're banned"

They do not depend upon our information (although our beliefs about frequencies do).

Equilibrium Matching (EqM): a generative modeling framework built from an equilibrium dynamics perspective

It simplifies and outperforms flow matching, where it exceeds Flow Matching in generation quality, supports optimization-based sampling, and solves downstream tasks naturally.

I keep a list of companies I don't want to work for, but those companies do hire people and make payroll. Am I self-sabotaging by refusing to work at those places? Will my friends disown me if I do take the money? What if it's companies that aren't wholly evil but have a bad internal track record?

My friend @lkatfield.bsky.social has a book coming out that I think is essential reading for everyone. A starred review in Publisher's Weekly called it a "formidable debut ... a meticulous and unsettling revelation of a right-wing plan for a 'new old-fashioned world.'"
