There is a long tradition in European art in portraying happiness; with Albert Marquet's depiction of the Dune de Pyla near Arcachon, on France's Atlantic coast (1935) he has created a picture the mind can play in.

Belgian artist/patron Anna Boch liked to promote young or unknown artists, & was apparently the first & only buyer of van Gogh’s work during his lifetime. She continued to buy his work, such as ‘Peach Blossoms, La Crau’, after he died

You flatter me! Thanks for your lovely words.

This is a much more civilised place, I’m liking it more and more, it was a ghost town but it’s really picking up now.
A quality weather feed as good/interesting as yours will get NOTICED, given time :-) You always include matters of global interest.. so, something for everyone #weather #snow #climate Check Dan out, BlueSky :-)

Sometimes the icebergs in Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon remind me of bars of Toblerone (not usually colour-wise, although some are muddy from the moraine). I loved this one, which broke up a little soon after, when part of the bigger piece it was attached to broke off, causing a tidal wave!

The Words I never Wrote by Jane Thynne - 2 sisters caught up in opposing sides of WW2. Nice account of pre war glam. What this book does so well is describe the nightmare & relentlessness of fascism for all walks of life. Had to take a break from reading once or twice, all too believable.

See, the nice thing about reading is that the really important stuff happens inside your head. Whatever you think & feel about a book is yours & yours alone. And I think it's nice to have something completely to yourself, especially something that doesn't take anything from anyone else.
