Another function of epicuticular wax is to make plant surfaces slippery for insects. Insects can’t eat a slick, waxy leaf if they can’t hold onto it… or can slip to their death from the waxy rim of a pitcher plant. Nepenthes sibuyanensis by Eric Hunt CCBYNCND2 #Nepenthaceae #wax #Botany 🌾🧪🌱

Round-leaved sundew (Drosera rotundifolia) is a beautiful but deadly (to flies) carnivorous plant found in the Scottish highlands. Really quite small so easy to overlook.

This man cannot be inconvenienced by HIS JOB.
Pete Hegseth had a special internet line installed in his Pentagon office — in defiance of Defense Dept. security protocols — so that he could use Signal on a personal computer there.

The "dirty" line (called that because it's not secure) increases the likelihood of being hacked or surveilled.
Pete Hegseth's behavior has become "erratic," and he seems increasingly "insecure" about his job and standing in the admin.

Officials who operate in Hegseth's vicinity describe him as difficult and prickly, and said that he berates and yells at the staff.

Trump is talking about shuttering publications and networks he disagrees with. He's talking about deporting and imprisoning Americans who dissent. This is unprecedented and undemocratic.

Wake up America.
