"Slime Family Portrait, by Kutub Uddin"

These alien-like slime moulds on a fallen tree are just 1-2 millimetres in diameter and were found in woods on the Slindon Esdtate in West Sussex.

The podotremes are a series of weirder than weird crabs, yet somehow they are true crabs (Brachyura). The elongated body and visible abdomen aren't very "crablike" and suggest they have more ancestral morphology.

These alienesque guys are Latreillia metanesa and Cymonomus chani.

It is a colorless crab with an almost squarish carapace and quite inflated pleon visibly almost as long as the carapace in dorsal view. The pleon indicates it is female but even in males it would stick out. Of all the Young British Artists of the 1990s — including upstarts like Damien Hirst and Tracey Emin, mouthing off petulantly to the art establishment with dead livestock and unmade beds — it is painter Jenny Saville who has been most entrenched in the history of art.
Is Jenny Saville the UK’s Greatest Living Painter?
Enormous in scale, Saville's uncomfortably close-cropped depictions of women’s faces and nude bodies abound in the joy of painterly modeling.
