Voting the same way for the entire history of a province and expecting anything to change is an odd concept.

As a citizen of the #Métis nation I would like to say that the slogan, #CanadaFirst sickens me, not just because of its familiarity to #MAGA sentiments but because the Canada First movement dates back to 1868. It was the rally cry to make war against & displace the Métis & other Indigenous nations.

Great article. If #JordanPeterson or #AlexJones or #BenShapiro or #TuckerCarlson are endorsing you as a leader you might want to reconsider your life choices.
Increasingly, populists have embraced the spread of fearmongering lies as a political strategy.

This is happening in Canada too.

Poverty is very expensive.
“In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Those affected receive a small apartment & counselling with no preconditions. 4 out of 5 people affected make their way back into a stable life. And all this is CHEAPER than accepting homelessness.”
Finland ends homelessness and provides shelter for all in need - scoop.me
In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Why? The country applies the "Housing First" concept agains homelessness.

Every #Canadian needs to #ReadThisBook. I don’t know how I missed it until now. Adam’s voice is an uncompromising look at our history. I’m a citizen of the #MetisNationOfAlberta & this book has helped me understand what made my grandfather walk away from our culture.

Alberta, my home, has well over a century of Ukrainian heritage. Intellectuals, writers, leaders in all areas. Watching Trump and Vance insult Mr. Zelensky was an offence to Ukrainians and their admirers worldwide. A day I hope to remember as the beginning of Trump's inevitable collapse.

Did you all see the Fifth Estate’s episode about the #ValleyViewLibrary? Please take the time. If you value REAL freedom you need to be aware of how much havoc TBA and far right politics can cause.

I hear the Smith saying we must listen to contrarian voices but I don’t see how having only those voices in a study that surely needs to be science based could possibly have an outcome worth 2 million $. We could have just done a survey at the convoy and had the same results. #Covid

A new and alarming twist on this topic are “paper mills” that crank out fake studies and academic articles. Seems it’s easy to get them published but very complicated to have them retracted. Impossible to put that genie back in the bottle if the information hits social media.
MAGA and MAHA types love to say “do your own research” & “I’ve done my research”, but they only like “research” if it’s a chiropractor on a podcast talking about why vaccines are satanic or whatever. Peer review & ethics boards are too woke & gay I guess? Smells a lot like Nazi book burning
🚨BREAKING. From a program officer at the National Science Foundation, a list of keywords that can cause a grant to be pulled. I will be sharing screenshots of these keywords along with a decision tree. Please share widely. This is a crisis for academic freedom & science.

@archive.org I am using some of your incredible resources to trace my Métis history. I am so grateful. What a thrill to see a letter that refers to one of my ancestors. It can be extremely frustrating to try and trace Indigenous family trees.
