A reminder - before Trump, MAGA, Musk and Fox rewrote history - that this is what the entire country agreed had happened five years ago today:

See, it’s not hard to denounce this and toe it into the larger pattern of criminality.
Chris Murphy: "Clearly this is wildly illegal. This is a president who has been operating illegally since he was sworn in -- stealing from the American people, seizing spending power, now dragging America into a war overseas ... Donald Trump's entire foreign policy is corrupt."

Were 90s kids clamoring for a Batman cartoon with 1930s Art Deco aesthetics? Is that what the market demanded? Or did some really smart creative people have a vision and make a genre-defining hit that sustained 20 years of TV shows? If you want success look for vision, not just metrics.

Starting off 2026 with a little fact about me that many may not be aware of.
From 2007 to 2009 I had created and directed animation on a popular and award winning preschool animated series. My Friend Rabbit. (Are we surprised?) 🐰

Had a really great year for art, and streaming! Looking forward to new opportunities this year!
A few things I'm proud of from last year:
⭐ Created a lot of art for friends this year (always a goal)
⭐ Published my first video game to Steam
⭐ Traveled solo to Japan for the first time!

Thank you for the kind word! This is how I did the animation. Not too fancy but it gets the job done!

Part 1/3 In April, I made a comic, looking back at the last 8 years since moving to, and finding my place in Canada. I had a lot of folks say it inspired them to want to move themselves. I decided to make a follow up comic with some handy tips on how to make moving to a new town/country easier.

this is a FANTASTIC article that outlines why "it's just for concept art" still doesn't fucking work and will make all your games worse
We spoke to a dozen professional concept artists who are currently or have previously worked in game development about whether generative AI image tools have made their jobs any easier.

Zero said it did. Most said it made things harder.

Concept Artists Say Generative AI References Only Make Their Jobs Harder
“The ‘early ideation stages’, when worlds are being fleshed out by writers and artists, are literally crucial to the development of a game’s vision,” said one artist.

Being an artist while AI is on the rise is scary, but computers can never replicate the authenticity and soul that exists in what humans create themselves.

Don’t give up.
Your creativity is the most powerful tool you possess.

Circling back to this, because I'm STILL riled up

This (and every) dumbed down, sugarcoated adaptation was NEVER made "for kids". It was made to coddle and placate sensitive, reactionary, misperceptive adults who are too dumb and afraid to think critically or feel deeply about the world around them
People who argue "who cares it's just for kids" all I can say is fuck right off. Kids deserve thoughtful, well-made movies that challenge them just as much as adults do. Kids aren't stupid, and they remember how movies affect them basically forever.
