Reading this statement I don't understand why the school was evacuated- it sounds like de-escalation tactics worked and since the altercation was outside the school, evacuating people into that space was actually MORE dangerous (potentially) than sheltering in place would have been.

Interesting to read about how this program that is designed to help keep people in their houses isn't being used. People don't even know about it

I feel like there's been a lot of discourse on the parks levy - it passed pretty easily (over 55% currently)

Apparently there was a house giving out giant stuffies. My older daughter and all of her friends got one.

celebrating auto infrastructure in the city. I'm guessing this was an at-grade railroad crossing before this project based on this 1960 aerial photo. Quite a few businesses and houses appear to have been lost/moved

for example, riding 3 miles in an hour currently costs $0.35/min = $21/hr for non-members - as does riding 18 miles.

If someone's on a #pedalpalooza ride they are likely unlocking the bike for 3 hours - that's an expensive trip!

Having a maximum hourly rate of $10/hr would make a big difference

is this why the bill is named BBB?

they envision lowering the country's bond rating to the bottom of 'investment grade'?

I just dropped my ballot off at my local box. It was interesting to see election officials picking up a batch as I dropped it off. I guess they don't want to stay up all night counting if they can start earlier.

Area around Portland’s Steel Bridge sees 3rd homicide in 16 months www.oregonlive.com/crime/2025/0...

it feels like there is a real opportunity to close some streets around this area and use that space for commercial/residential infill. The steel bridge skatepark & Flanders connection aren't enough
