So sorry to hear this. Deborah Cameron was a fantastic thinker and writer on linguistics. From her superb book Verbal Hygiene to her insightful blogging, her approach to explaining complex issues was basically to assume people are intelligent but don't care for jargon.
Desperately sad news about Deborah Cameron today. She was such a brilliant, incisive presence in the world of linguistics and particularly language and gender. Don't know what else to say but I'm sure there will be many tributes paid to her and her work in the days to come.

Brilliant sharp funny Deborah Cameron came to a seminar at Liverpool in the late ‘80s and that talk generated my interest in sociolinguistics that got me my first job. Always eminently right, clever, decent. RIP.

The boyfriend of a friend of my son's has spent several weeks in a psych ward due to Chat GPT induced psychosis. He isn't suicidal but AI encouraged him down a toxic and paranoid wormhole until he became completely delusional. Evil stuff.
1.This is not the only known example we know of ChatGPT cheering on a vulnerable young person to die by suicide, this time it is a recent Texas A&M grad
