I’ve struggled my whole life to find the necessity to make something creative, but the evils of gen AI are pushing me. My god they’re pushing me. How can you not want to fight back? They have to be stopped. Everyone must stop them.

Under the Banner of Heaven, by Jon Krakauer
Ok, everyone, what book is sacred enough to you to get sworn in on?
Strange takes on Mayor Zamdani swearing his oath on the Qu’ran. It has nothing to do with church & state. The point of the oath is for the person swearing in to do so upon some text that is sacred TO THEM. Some Presidents swore in w/o any book. John Quincy Adams was sworn on a law book. His choice.

post a perfect album from the 90s that isn't nirvana, pearl jam, soundgarden, or Alice In Chains.

How about some classic Boards of Canada?

Star Trek discourse is interesting. To each their own but the only Star Trek narratives that are good to me are communist, anti-authoritarian/anti-theocratic, or existentialist

Waiting on the peers of the Good Christians to one day do the right thing. Watching the Atheists coerced by the dividends of the Bad Christians during that wait. Wishing things would change for the better and waiting far too long.

This guy is more of a Hidetaka Miyazaki boss than a rightful Muppet
This individual had no right being in a *Muppets* movie.

I’m probably an asshole for this but I’m not crazy about Die Hard because aside from Alan Rickman’s Hans Gruber, all of the characters are way too hammy for me to care about them

Thinking about this lately. Seems the only way to protect things is to set the bar so high that any attempt to remake it is laughed into the ground. We're seeing that already with One Punch Man, & might see it again with Frieren Season 2. If you make something perfect it'll speak for itself forever.

Ok how much did the military lose. The USPS is not a business
cnn.com CNN @cnn.com · 9d
The USPS faces a tight squeeze. With fewer people using the mail, it’s lost more and more money: $9 billion in the 12 months ending in September alone.

Ronald Reagan was a mass murdering war criminal and a homicidal bigot who race-baited and committed high treason to get elected, and whose wanton destruction of social democratic gains in the US, in service of the super-profits of the rich, directly paved the way for Trump.
The presidency once served as a reminder of our common humanity. Ronald Reagan described its purpose as building "a nation composed of good and decent people."

btw i did find a (barely) 1st Ed. reference to clerics being able to cast Dimension Door. it's in Greyhawk Adventures and priests of Celestian gain it at 11th level.

ofc this was printed in '88 as, like FR Adventures, it was a 1st > 2nd Ed. transition book, so the Duffers must still face my wrath.
