Ashleigh is a reclusive Pacific Northwest author with the charm of a chloroform-laced handkerchief and the bite of a poisoned quill. I don’t tell the whole story—I write tales where love gets messy and murder never wipes its feet. ashleighwritesbooks.com
Looking at the current budget and realizing that I am not going to be able to afford #LeftCoastCrime2026 this year. I hate being “responsible” and “mature”.

I made a comment to a friend over on Discord earlier today, while we were discussion various "social media platforms" that I generally referred to a specific one with an extra "e" following the a in its name. They laughed and said they generally use an "r" in the same place.

Do any of my author friends here use the HM Books Gallery for WordPress? I am having a devil of a time getting it to dose things that to me should be simple. But my brain doesn't function the way that some other people's do, and what is simple to others is complicated for me.

Experiencing existential dread. Attepting to complete Bowker's ISBN order form on my own. On attempt five to complete the first book entry. I keep forgetting to do something and it drops everything and I have to stat over. Now, I'm tring to remembe where I put the cover art for the damned books.

FINALLY - back in he murder book after far too long. The first half of this year was spent Auschwitz-Birkenau, which was a very dark place for my mind to be, but needful. I have a trilogy from that that is now marinating for final polishing before I try to shoot to a publisher. But, done, mostly.

Wow, I’ve never heard it articulated before as the freedom to read. That’s what I want! When I disagree with a position but want to know more, I go to a library. When I want to understand something I go to a library.

I want the freedom to read!
