These look good. It's such an easy way to add fruit and make a snack more filling. I had no clue that 1 acre of peanuts could make 30,000 sandwiches.

This semester has shown me how important nutrition is for every part of healthcare. No matter what field I end up in, I want to use what I've learned to help patients make small, realistic changes that actually fit their lives and improve their overall health.

The food I’m most excited for this Thanksgiving is stuffing; everything about it just feels like home. It’s the one thing I always go back for seconds 🦃 🍽️

It's wild how many of these labels sound healthy but turns out it means almost nothing. It's good to break this down to know what actually matters like pasture-raised could helps us make smarter choices at the stores.

As a future healthcare provider, I would share this article with parents because it has factual evidence on how added sugars affect many kids’ diets. It helps families make smarter and healthier food choices at home and school.

I didn’t know about this! This is a good reminder for people who own pets. It shows how important it is to watch what our pets eat, just like we do. A healthy diet can really help prevent diabetes and keep them active and happy.

Pet Diabetes Month is celebrated in November. Minimize the risk of diabetes in your pets through dietary means. Specific recommendations can be made to address the potential impact of different food types on insulin production and weight management. #PetDiabetesMonth

Tom Carroll’s story, I found it inspiring. It’s impressive how one simple change, such as eating a Chick-fil-A salad every day, can help him lose over 132lbs. It shows us that staying consistent matters way more than being perfect. Taking small steps can really add up.

It's impressive. It only took 8 weeks, which shows how healthy eating feels more achievable. This proves how small changes can really add up when it comes to cholesterol and heart health.

Switching out meat for #plant-based #meat alternatives for 8 weeks or less may help lower total #cholesterol by approximately 6% and low-density lipoprotein (#LDL) cholesterol, also known as “bad” cholesterol, by approximately 12% in adults without CVD. www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/low...
Cholesterol: Plant-based meat alternatives may help lower levels
Short-term use of plant-based meat alternatives could help lower levels of LDL cholesterol and total cholesterol, and help to manage weight.

Something that really stood out to me this week is that fat shaming doesn’t help people lose weight, but actually, it makes things worse. It can cause more stress and emotional/binge eating. We should focus on promoting health with kindness and support, not judgment.

This is so true! After eating greasy food I always feel super sluggish after eating it. However a good way to cut down on greasy food is switching to an air fryer because it still taste good without all the guilt.
@beh353.bsky.social #beh353
Greasy foods are tasty but can cause bloating, weight gain, and increased health risks if eaten excessively. Fried foods slow digestion, strain your gut, and impair brain function. Opt for grilled, baked, or air-fried instead. #NationalGreasyFoodsDay www.healthline.com/nutrition/gr...

I experience emotional responses (stress) that increase appetite and preference for unhealthy foods. I’ve noticed that the more stressed I am in college. The worse my eating habits get during the semester, and everything fried or sugary looks 10x better

I thought vitamin B was one type. However, I never knew that there were 8 different types with unique roles. It makes sense that most people get enough from food, but some might take supplements depending on their diet or health conditions.

This is the label of the vitamin I take. I have been taking Vitamin D3 (2000 IU) because I’m deficient in Vitamin D3 due to the lack of sunlight. Each serving gives me 250% of my daily vitamin D needs. This helps with immune health, bone support, and muscle function.

The fad diet that I picked was the grape diet, and it began in the 1900s. It claims to cleanse your bodies by only eating grapes. Even though grapes are healthy, living off of grapes means that our bodies are getting zero protein and we experience major fatigue.

An easy meal that I usually make is tacos. But one way I can make them more nutrient-dense is by adding more veggies and beans, cutting back on sour cream, and using corn tortillas instead of flour tortillas. It will still be delicious, but just more balanced. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

Wow! For class, we actually had to write down everything we ate and it really showed how tracking our food intake can raise awareness. Even small details matter, and that kind of mindfulness could definitely help lower obesity rate over time.

Obesity rates have climbed from 15% in 1980 to over 42% today. Food matters, but so do portion sizes, less activity, and lifestyle shifts. I dig into the bigger picture in my new blog, Rising Obesity Rates & Sedentary Lifestyles: www.shelleyrael.com/blog/obesity...

U.S. obesity rates have nearly tripled since 1980, but food alone isn’t to blame. Learn how lifestyle changes, technology, and culture have shaped health.

Breakfast: protein shake, toast, eggs with ketchup
Lunch: 2 salmon onigiri, Thai milk tea
Dinner: caldo de res, white rice, toritas
Overall, recording my food intake was easy and accurate. Also, I've noticed that I tend to have a lot of sides with my main meal.

Macadamia nuts are more than just a delicious snack they are packed with macronutrients, mainly healthy fats, rich in fiber and a good energy boosting treat.
@beh353.bsky.social #beh353
Celebrate Macadamia Nuts! They have a subtle, buttery, rich flavor, with a texture that’s more creamy than crisp. Delicious but pricey. Rich in fiber and phytosterols (such as ß-sitosterol). #MacadamiaNutDay dietitians-online.blogspot.com/2014/09/sept...

A fun fact is that your brain is nearly 60% fat! This shows that eating healthy fats like avocados, nuts, or olive oil helps keep our brains sharp, boosts memory, and improves mood. Shows that fats aren’t just energy, but they are brain fuel too 🙂.
