I was even the victim of seniority based classism at at my job when I first got started. Couple of senior guys were saying “yeah this break room should only be for people who’ve been here 20 years” and then went on to start going “where were you during (past natural disasters)” to each other.

When I first came to the US one of the things I learned was established VAs would actively discourage or look down on newer actors asking for appearance fees at conventions, often judging them for how much they were asking for.

That never should have been a thing.

That’s the same mindset that has gripped a lot of people who are against student loan forgiveness because they had to pay thier loans off themselves.

“I had to buckle down and suffer… why should you get what I didn’t” instead of working to ensure that no one needs to go what they went through.
