1. In a devastating new Pew Research Survey, only 3 in 10 transgender adults report being accepted by their parents.

And only 1 in 10 say they are accepted by their extended family.

This is the lowest number ever found in surveys asking similar questions.

For the last few years I've tried to very intentionally notice how much wildlife rests, to remind myself that I too need to be intentional about not only nightly sleep but also daily periods of recovery and rest.

This Eastern Gray Squirrel was taking a mid-day snooze:

Highland cattle are famous for their ability to "disco nap". Normally these brief, efficient sleeps will last between three and twenty minutes, deploying a variety of objects as pillows, including moorland boulders, cars or any particularly large dog or sheep who happens to be nearby.

I look at my iron meteorite every now and then and try to picture the force it took to rip this piece apart.

Palm-size hunk of the Sikhote-Alin fall of 1947, smaller pieces widely available at rock shops.

on the one hand, the birds! and I do like easing into the day gradually (the kids have been sleeping in still). and mornings are less eerie. but I also kinda prefer my unwinding/alone time to feel unlimited, and not like it’s going to expire at any minute 🥲
