I like that this website does a bad job of showing the original tweet that's being replied to so your timeline just fills up with weird little snippets like "oh great, let's make babies even bigger" or "what about dog owners who need to use the bus?"

Good discussion on Threads vs Bsky vs the Bad Place here
I do want Threads to fail - or at least, not become “the” platform - because Mark Zuckerberg is an evil genocide-enabling ghoul

and I feel pretty sure a super-successful Threads will unleash even more horrors upon the world.

Insightful Bsky vs Threads discussion going on here
“twitter, but not as weird” appeals to like 1% of blue sky and mastodon users, but i would bet it appeals to like 80% of twitter users
I think people are underestimating the instant juggernaut effect from having the entire Instagram social graph already there. Plus they aren't trying to create new technology paradigms or other nerd shit, and aren't overtly political.

Periodic reminder for newbies that this works really well to find your Twitter follows on here- I rerun it every few days and always find new people. (It’s not perfect but it’s pretty good)

Over on reddit on the r/london sub people are arguing whether a pigeon spotted in Spitalfields is naturally golden or just in need of a wash

Seems like a good tip for anyone joining bsky / ramping up their presence today
Pro-tip: Go to custom feeds and unpin "What's Hot" and replace it with "What's Hot Classic". This will greatly increase your user experience on this website.

Going through my bookmarks in the other place to salvage what I can and hoo boy talk about tweets that aged badly - this one from June 2021

In retrospect, the common thread that brought SVB and First Republic may have been ... the Unicorn Bubble popping?!
