It's worse than that in Gundam - the visual displays are all computer "enhanced," so when you spoof them with a dummy balloon, the displays render it like it was the real thing. Now it turns out that's the future of real-world imaging.

They do this in Gundam too, due to Minovsky interference from mobile suits scanners on ships tend to be useless, so they have to rely on line-of-sight. This makes dummy inflatable suits and asteroids loaded with explosives extremely useful.

42 has meaning. Its meaning is looking to technology to reveal deep truths or insights about organisms is nonsense that only produces more nonsense. It's even more relevant now than it was when it was written.

"don't romanticize it, don't glorify it, don't sexualize it"

I have some bad fucking news for you about reality. You already do. You romanticize war. You enjoy watching people suffer. The news is chockablock with snuff porn. People are just selective about the world they want, they want violence.

I think the nasty stuff that makes you real fucking sad and bitter and uncomfortable and ANGRY that something like this could happen even in fiction is important.

It's important because people really are just killed. People are raped. People live in misery. It doesn't go away if you ignore it.

Fiction does have an effect on reality in the sense that it is a communication between members - art is a calcification of communication, it is a materializing of the otherwise ephemeral-which is to say that it effects the world less than it reflects the world. sometimes only the part we want to see

I mean more than one - I've seen people live tweet dying. I've seen people who could have lived disappear only to learn they're dead later. I've watched "progressives" gloat over the elderly freezing to death in their homes.

These people love happy endings because God is on the Throne.

There's nothing they can do as their organs fail and the system around them moves like a noose around the neck of the still living. They're being killed systemically, the people involved don't care. Is there a solution? People are desperately trying but they have little money and little power.

Also, it sounds like people have figured out which hotel the ICE agents are staying at and are giving them a lovely overnight musical performance with drums and vuvuzelas and so on.

It's clear from the article that ICE is *miserable* here. They're freezing their asses off and being harassed everywhere they go. Property managers aren't allowing them access to rental properties and people know their rights and aren't letting them in.

KEEP IT UP.

The transplants are largely cool. It's Minnesota Nice becoming embedded in queer culture that's the problem.

I'd trust a texas queer before I'd trust a lifelong Minnesotan queer.
