When you grow up constantly judged/abused you learn to push people away and very quickly realize that there are worse things to be than lonely. Especially if you’re autistic and don’t know how to tell who is or isn’t safe to be yourself around without masking bc it’s too dangerous getting it wrong.

Autistic inertia is kicking my ass this morning it’s almost 3pm and I can’t get out of beddddd. Like I want to get up but I can’t, ppl don’t realize how traumatic it can be to want to do something like getting up but your body betrays you so you are just stuck in your body & in my case stuck in bed.

You know what pisses me off? When able bodied ppl say shit like that we’re “lucky bc we get to stay home and relax“. What’s relaxing about waking up at 5am bc I can’t breathe and I’m extremely nauseous? I take a nap and wake up in agonizing pain. I fear naps. There IS NO rest or relaxation for me.

Despite my oldest daughter showing very classic signs of Autism at 2 years old, we were told to wait a few years and that socializing in school will fix it.
So in other words, they wanted society to peer pressure her into masking all the time.
