LOOK at this handsome American Crow fledgling! 😍🖤 His parents are valiantly protecting him from humans, off-leash dogs, and other predators. This is the same kiddo my fellow rescuer and I have been checking on since yesterday. She has a real camera that snaps gorgeous shots like this. 🪶

“I asked ChatGPT” yeah well I asked my autistic friend whose pattern recognition gives her borderline prophetic accuracy even though no one ever listens to her because she’s awkward and has bad timing and says the wrong thing and has no control over her body or volume or brain or

The shelter I volunteer with has a unique adoption situation right now and I'd be so grateful if people could share to anyone they know in Vermont who might be a good fit. This is Devon, and his story is a little complicated so please click this link to find out more! www.hsccvt.org/Cats#sl_embe...

As of this morning, only one of the men who was standing on the balcony of the Lorraine Motel that fateful evening is still living.

Since Brother Jesse passed at 84 this morning.

I often think about the fact that if the FBI et al had not killed Fred Hampton, he would be 78 today. Younger than Jesse Jackson was. Must have felt strange to outlive many of your contemporaries by decades.

To unnecessarily deport a sick baby and his entire family is heinous. My staff and I are in contact with Juan’s family.

… beyond the gross inhumanity here, the odds are Juan, at least, is a US citizen, and so is his sister. He’s two months old.
After a discussion with their attorney, I have confirmed that Juan, his 16-month-old sister, his mom, and his dad have been deported.

ICE announced they’re going to spend more than $38 billion to detain thousands of more people.

With that amount of money, we could end homelessness, extend the Affordable Care Act subsidies, or provide school lunches to every kid in America.

This is totally unacceptable.

A lot of people who have warned you about horrors that have come to pass are now warning about the concentration camps. People need to take this as seriously as you can take anything in life.
The concentration camps will not only be for immigrants, documented or otherwise. They already aren't.

They won't only be for brown and Black people.

The targets will keep expanding. It will not end.

The only way it will is if we stop it. Both in and out of the system. There is no other way.

Ha! I'm surprised it fits under there. I used to see it every day from my office window back when they parked it outside a ComEd facility in the 'burbs. That was a long time ago and I feel very old 😅

In this thread, U.S. Rep. Joaquin Castro says 2-month-old baby Juan Nicolás was sent back to Dilley — the main immigration detention facility for families in the U.S. — just hours after he was “unresponsive” while hospitalized for bronchitis
I have an update on Juan Nicolás, the 2-month-old baby detained at Dilley, and his mother.

You can turn it off in “Language & Translations” in Settings. 🙅🏻‍♀️

Years ago, I took a group of high school students on my slavery and resistance in NYC walking tour and when I shared this with them, they were incredulous, LOL.

Also, at the end of the tour, they were FURIOUS because they felt lied to in their social studies classes.

Did y'all know that NYC was such a slave city that Mayor Fernando Wood proposed that NYC secede from the Union? www.untappedcities.com/on-this-day-...

How many New Yorkers do we think know this today?

What Peter Thiel did to Gawker proved that you can’t have billionaires and a free press at the same time.
i think you can judge how free - or not - our political media is by the fact that elon musk literally did a sieg heil (twice) at a rally and it’s still seen as uncouth and overly partisan (in legacy media) to describe his politics as straightforwardly white supremacist.

I’m going to keep sharing this PSA: although the MMR is usually given at 12 and 18 months, your baby can get a first dose as early as 6 months. They will still need the other two doses, because immunity doesn’t stick at that age, and insurance may not cover it. But it’s protection.

I promise you can help autistic people without classifying them into types like a butterfly collection
Anything involving IQ tests *in any way* is eugenicist pseudoscientific bullshit and should not be anywhere near anything to do with disability provision. Might as well base it on their Myers-Briggs type or their star sign.
Yeah, so my feeling is NOPE, NO, NUH UH, NEVER

For one thing, IQ is bullshit. For another, there is a reason we DON’T want a streamlined way to identify “the most vulnerable”. Please see the United States for further details.

Lastly—who is this for?
