If anyone from the UN wants to talk, here’s a nice summary. The astronomy community does NOT endorse this proposal, just take it from one of THE EXPERTS on ISOs with Rubin. Meg (and many others) has helped the community plan for +10yrs for these kinds of studies.

A few hours ago, Comet 3I/ATLAS passed about 28 million km from Mars.

This was the best opportunity we'll have to image the interstellar visitor from spacecraft.

When those data are available, I'll share them!

AI has gotten much better at a lot of things, but my mental model that it should only be used for tasks you would give an overeager and overconfident intern remains pretty solid.

I am often impressed by the work it does, but you have to double check everything yourself if it needs to be right.

Any attack against innocent civilians, especially those of a religious minority peacefully practicing their faith should be universally condemned, regardless of any larger geopolitical conflicts. It’s not a hard thing to do, and suggesting they’re somehow complicit is the same tactic Netanyahu uses.
