When it was originally released I really disliked it and as a Kubrick admirer it almost made me angry that it was his last film. Completely different experience watching it 15 or so years later.

I didn't know that switchback was so contentious. It's very convenient for regularly heading up from the ravine to do union drives with the Rosedale housekeepers and nannies.

An upscale Toronto food market that has a parking lot successfully argued that losing two on-street parking spots to a priority bus lane would crush them. Whole business model built on those two spots.

I still feel occasional embarrassment, after 35 years living here, when I do that walking on sidewalk. And then I’m embarrassed that I’m embarrassed.

Good column and got me thinking about pedestrian vigilantism as a response. Likely disastrous, but things reaching a boiling point. Safe assumption now is that you're going to get hit eventually. No way to run a city, or at least a civilized one.

I agree with you. Back in my clubbing days, thought there should be bar service for those of us in entrance line. However, I don’t think I’ve seen a teetotaller so obsessed with liquor since the prohibitionists of yore.
