And if they won't answer you, why don't you ask *yourself* why they won't use the tools at their disposal - the tools you voted for them to have - to help? 11/11

We're in the shit. Every act of resistance, anything that slows the speed-run, helps.

So maybe instead of asking me (not an elected official) "what do you want (blank) to do?!" why don't you ask the elected officials (WHO WORK FOR YOU) why they aren't using the tools at their disposal to help? 10/

Now, you may think Trump wants Congress at a full-stop to speedrun his autocratic wet-dreams, but to go back to the sabots...

There's a HUGE power differential between management turning off the machinery and labor shutting down the machinery. 9/

... and tons more minute procedural steps that can grind the works to a halt.

And that's just the first half of the video, you can watch the rest for yourself without my transcribing it. 8/

The Senate, not designed as a majoritarian institution, requires unanimous consent to function, which means Dem senators can

• Object, and forcing full procedure on anything that comes before the Senate
• Demand Quorum votes
• Demand Recorded votes
• Demand Roll Call Votes 7/

In the above tiktok - a long, but eye-opening watch - Stoermer suggests a number of parliamentary procedures that members of congress can use to slow the gears of autocracy (that they *don't* is a whole other kettle of fish) - namely: 6/

I got tired of being asked "what do you want (insert dem) to do?!" so I turned to an expert - in this case @tadstoermer.bsky.social , author of "A Resistance History of the United States," and former aide to Sen. Mary Landrieu, the last dem senator from Louisiana. 5/

A gear system is large, strong and intricate. A sabot is small and blunt.

It's the same principle as David beating Goliath, paper covering rock.

We believe all the time that small things can beat big things.

Until we get dispirited by the state of things and turn fatalist.

Huge HUGE mistake. 4/

This is a sabot. The popular yarn goes: striking laborers threw their sabots into the factory gears to disrupt the machinery, which as Lt. Valeris would tell us, is where we get the word "sabotage."

Now, that's actually not a true etymology, but when the principle is sound, print the legend. 3/

So let's talk about asymmetrical warfare, specifically the part I need you to be so clear-eyed about:

Every resistance/opposition movement in history began as a minority.

Yes, Revolution is typically mounted by a majority against minority rule. But that's once the resistance is up on its feet. 2/

I'm so glad you bring that up! Here's a weigh-in from a resistance scholar/fmr congressional aide w a list of exactly which tools are available at Dems' disposal.

Also, she has 8 dem reps in her state who could support @thanedar.house.gov's articles of impeachment, introduced last April.

Can I interest you in helping to drum up support for Rep. @thanedar.house.gov's articles of impeachment? It hasn't made a lot of progress in the 8 months since its introduction, but your state has 8 dem reps who might help get it moving again.
