Here is the pattern, I knit this back in April- but remember being very happy with the pattern- I loved how the swirl works up.
Flux Hat pattern by Urth Yarns
An easy swirl of mesh stitched texture worked in the round and topped with a pompom.

Here is a link to the colorway I used from Republic of Yarnia. I picked Baby Alpaca/Merino, which is absolutely a delight for the hands and eyes.
Red Theban | Republic of Yarnia

The challenge in the tale is never abt violence; it's abt whether one can live truthfully across time, & keep their word when a moment of reckoning arrives.

As we stand at the edge of a new yr, may we face the unknown w/ courage and creativity. Happy holidays.

We've tried substituting easily half a dozen different things in that equation for the medium, and it has never, not *once*, worked to address the problem. Because the problem is not the medium, the problem is that we don't treat teens like human beings with human needs and human problems.

Every decade or so we decide to suddenly pretend to care about the emotional wellbeing of teens again, blame a new medium for carrying the exact same messages teens have been using forever to hurt each other, act tough for a few years, and then make the surprised pikachu face when nothing changes!

Every danger people blame on "social media" is actually a societal issue or a danger that comes from other people who could be creating that danger anywhere. It's like blaming the air for transmitting the sound waves of something upsetting someone said.

It's clear from the article that ICE is *miserable* here. They're freezing their asses off and being harassed everywhere they go. Property managers aren't allowing them access to rental properties and people know their rights and aren't letting them in.

KEEP IT UP.

Whether it becomes a cowl, mitts, a hat, or something entirely your own, it brings a little medieval magic and a reminder that joy, like marginalia, can be found in the corners, if we let it.

May your winter be warm, whimsical, and full of unexpected beauty.🧶

But like so many marginalia figures, its lightheartedness hides something meaningful: the quiet reminder that joy, imagination, & absurdity have always been part of human history.

Even in the 14thc, during hardship, cold winters, & deep faith, artists still carved out space for wonder.
