My wife and I were staying at my aunt and uncle's house outside of Montréal while were looking for an apartment cuz we were about to move to Montréal. That's the story we both vivdly remember, except its wrong. We moved to Montréal in 2006, three years before Jackson died. We left Montréal in 2009.
Where were you when you found out Michael Jackson had died?

Fuck this is good (bad?)!
A man stirs the pot. “It’s a metaphor,” he says.

The frog is sweating.

The frog is informed that this is due to a natural variation in temperature.

“He’s clearly boiling the frog,” say the other frogs.

All books about frogs have vanished from the library.
Signs the Frog Has Been Boiled

Content warning: child sexual abuse

The video in the quoted skeet is about my 6th grade teacher. In hindsight, he clearly tried to groom me. He had taught my mother and she had warned me about him. There’s no way the schools, the district, and their administrations had no idea what was happening.

Still thinking about this and how in the future, some kid will be in a class where the teacher will ask the students to write an essay on the causes of the fall of the US empire and they will get an +A for simply submitting this image:

Last Thursday, I took my youngest kid to the university for his "career day". It wasn't part of my plan, but I decided to take the time to show him some of Claude Roussel's sculptures. At the time, I didn't know he'd died the night before.
Merci Claude Roussel 1930-2025

Anyway, this is motivating me to buy me some Moose green again

It can't be overstated that the First Nations are a big reason Canada has held out against the US for so long. (And were stuck in Residential schools as thanks.) I don't know how the First Nations feel right now, but I do know we wouldn't be a free country w/o them.

Kinda starting to feel like people in the future will talk about what’s going on right now in the same way we’ve been talking about “if I could go back in time, I’d go to Germany in 1933 and kill Hitler”.

It’s just that we don’t need a time machine to stop what’s going on right now.

Just finished “Le mas Théotime” (“The Farm Théotime” in English) by Henri Bosco. I knew nothing about the book or the author. I only bought it because it’s part of Gallimard’s Folio collection and I bought 45 of them for $90 last summer. #booksky
