"At times when I'm reading Gravity's Rainbow, it feels less like a book that I'm holding than a GIANT BLACK SWARM OF ULTRA-PARANOID BEES."

From my journal first time through it in 2005

'If Hicks McTaggart does make it back home again, it won’t be to the same America he left, “to a country not yet gone Fascist”. Given the current state of the country, this naturally seems like a comment on the United States today'

Thanks, Robert! I love IV and my appreciation of it has really grown since its release. While I thought highly of BE when it came out, we covered it on the Pynchon In Public podcast and second time through it didn't do as much for me. Lemme know what you think of ST

My thoughts on the new Pynchon novel, Shadow Ticket, for @thequietus.com . Really enjoyed it, even more the second time through. Looking forward to my third. Like with all Pynchon it comes together more with repeat visits #pynchon #shadowticket #thomaspynchon #books

'Aside from all the political rumblings and obscure historical facts, it’s Pynchon’s portrayal of human relationships that really shines in Shadow Ticket. The many-faceted little nuances of dialogue and action that will bring lovers together, or not'

Holy shit! Haven't seen anyone mention this in relation to One Battle After Another, but Sean Penn is actually in Vineland! #OneBattleAfterAnother #pynchon

I've had Red Barchetta stuck in my head all day. You don't know how bad I want to build "a country place
that no one knows about" where my nephew and I can hang when he gets older

Few things are better than a day off work and going to a matinée. I LOVED One Battle After Another. Excellent performances all around. I was in tears 3 or 4 times & sobbing at the end. Although I see them as quite different in tone, the film really does justice to Vineland #onebattleafteranother

“I have seen movies, short films, completely created by artificial intelligence,” Herzog said. “Story and acting and everything, they look completely dead. There are stories, but they have no soul. They are empty and soulless.”

Get their ass, Werner.
