Transphobes do this because they want to be transphobic without suffering the social consequences of bigotry.

They're trying to prevent harm to their own reputations.

Let those folks know that you don't believe their excuses & are judging them as bigots. They can't stand the disapproval of peers
The electoral argument for abandoning trans folks is and always has been weak, but a frequent refuge of people who don't want to be seen as/think of themselves as transphobes.

Elon empowered a bunch of cranks who engage in all kinds of insane conspiracy theories and quackery trying to explain trans people as a result of social contagion, sexual abuse, trauma, etc. None of it is remotely accurate. Worse are the people using this quackery to strip us of healthcare.

Same governor.
Same year.

Refuses to stop the execution of an innocent Black man.

Frees a white man convicted of lynching.

This is America.

Yes, this has been driving me batshit for months. *Any* good faith observer should be able to identify Israel’s actions in Gaza as a gross injustice.

This is so disturbing.
We are about to have a billionaire-funded, un-vetted private takeover of the government by a man who is already planning on removing everyone from military leadership who won't bend the knee to him, and with control of every branch of government.

I'm someone's child.
I'm someone's sister.
I'm someone's friend.
I'm someone's girlfriend.

I'm not a monster.
I'm not a mistake.
I'm not a "man".

Me being transgender shouldn't dehumanize me. I am human. Treat me as one.

Safeguards: you're looking at them. The institutions might yield, the laws might bend, the adults in the room might concede. But it is the people who ultimately make the decision on what they accept and reject. And if we choose to fight, we can choose not to give up.

The biggest superpower in a autocracy are saying the words "no, I won't comply."

We outnumber them. Autocrats require constant effort to maintain control. Forcing them to expend effort to enforce compliance is our asymmetrical advantage.

You live with a military base as a neighbor & your a-hole neighbors continue to set off fireworks until 2am - then you get woken up by the noise & it’s hard to tell in your sleepy state if it’s actually fireworks or WWIII. That might be a great opening to a movie. “They thought it was fireworks…”
