…and she almost laughed, saying it’s a common thought to come up but that isn’t how it works at all. i am paying for _therapy_, and if the therapist happens to end up liking me, caring for me, personally that is just an incidental (& common) human reaction to a relationship which is working well.

Yesterday with my new therapist i actually brought up the very embarrassing thought where i feel guilty because “i am paying to be cared for” (i couldn’t bring myself to say out loud that i sometimes feel sooo ashamed due to the parallel with sex work, paying someone for intimacy), …

i once got to the lab and realized i forgot to bring the requisition with me (adhd brain) and had to rush back home to get it and then was late for my appointment time,

so now i have an increasingly elaborate system to try not to forget again, yet it always feels like blind luck i remember

it is very normal to go into the lab wearing layers, it does not cause inconvenience, and if i chilled myself by leaving it in the car the nurse’s job would not be appreciably made easier or smoother

so i kept my coat and scarf on! yay me!!

(now praying my e trough level is finally in range)

i was going in stressed out circles in my mind about whether i should leave my coat and acarf in the car despite it only being 11C outside and a bit of a walk from the parking spot,

before it hit me this is totally just ocpd ruining my life, inventing a rule i should follow

even before getting in the car to drive to the lab for my blood draw i started thinking about how much of a fuss it would be to have a coat and scarf on top of cardigan to take off and hang up before the nurse takes my blood, how inconvenient all that bulk hanging up might be for her…
