Yep! If the new one is bad I will just slink back into the shadows and watch the original while writing something better lol.

God, I’m really hoping they don’t fuck up the remake they’re doing. I can‘t handle more bad Highlander.

It will come back. It takes time, but you will get there. 🫂🫂🫂

Oh jeez, I had forgotten about The Source. So many cool things about the mythos of Highlander, and they just decided to do... whatever the hell that was.

Literally stopped watching when they got rid of Ritchie. He was crucial to the chemistry of the show.

…Now I need to rewatch that show.

This is why I continue to say Roko’s Basilisk is a cult. They really believe that AI will become sentient and punish those who did not contribute to keeping it “alive”.

Gotta keep the subs of those assholes in the suburbs who say they’re from Chicago but have never gone anywhere between home and the Loop.

Dear white people:

Just shut up and listen to your problematic faves. Morrissey does not need you defending his dumb far-right ass. Sit down and deal with your guilt on your own.

Exception: JKR. Stop giving that bitch money because she is actively using that money to do harm to the trans community

“Starbucks holds nearly $2 billion of customers’ money in its rewards program. That’s more than the total deposits managed by 85 percent of chartered banks, making the coffee chain one of the biggest financial institutions in the country.”
Everything Is Becoming a Bank
Most major corporations — from airlines to social media platforms — now aspire to become unregulated banks. Bankification today accounts for the highest profit margins in the US economy, crippling pro...

It’s really hard to describe to people who are not artists how survival mode does *not* inspire creativity, as the myth would have us believe. It suppresses creativity as you try to limit every possible risk – and the opportunities that come with them.

It turns out building habits and stuff actually requires not being in survival mode, who knew?!
(Yeah yeah I did)

"You can tell it really got under his skin and he'd rather blame the film than come to terms with those feelings."

This is everything wrong with our current era in a nutshell, especially in media.

I just started a new system this afternoon (a blend of GTD and Bullet Journaling), and my actionable items list is so long I am tired just looking at it.

I desperately want to rest for a long time, but my brain doesn't understand how to do so.

That's good to know. I had just heard that they're super supportive of erotica authors, so I wanted to try them out. I'll probably do what you're doing and stick to my website.

That's what I'm leaning towards. I refuse to grind myself to a pulp for "content". I make what I feel like making, and if that's not enough so be it 🤷‍♀️

Agreed. It's a tenuous system, and Patreon is already cracking down on adult content. Ream is a good alternative, but is not as well known outside of romance circles (and even then, it's not well known). They're sub-based but moving towards supporting single sales as well.

I love this one. It’s not her best, but it’s a ton of fun.

I’ve been in a reading slump; maybe I’ll reread this.

It’s so hard to rein in the inner bitch. Mine wants to argue with every asshole on the internet. I’ve had to pull her in lest key blood pressure go up 😂

I will also say this does address the rising epidemic of illiteracy and reading comprehension in this country. The big five publishers in particular could do more about this, but they won't because they are short sighted and they simply don't care.

I see pieces like this a lot, often w/ a spin of lamenting cultural degeneration, but reading is a LABOR issue, it’s declined because so many people are working overtime or two jobs & employers expect after hours work. France has Earth’s highest reading rate b/c long lunch breaks & labor protections

I only learned about these platforms when researching how to serialize a story. A lot of people haven’t seen these sites; they’re far more popular in Eastern countries.

With Radish closing, I’m worried about the sustainability of these platforms too, at least in terms of getting paid for your work.
