It's scary and impoverished out there for trans folks and I'm going to have to upend my life pretty soon. My wonderful friends and bandmates put this together to help out — if you can help in anyway, with a few bucks or a share, it would make this tgirl's life a lot easier

Our landlord knocked on our door yesterday and told us we had five days until they take us to court. We need URGENT help with getting our goal met! We’re only at 2/800 so far; every bit of support helps us get out of this situation!! #MutualAid

🚨EMERGENCY🚨 Salem and I are two days late on rent and still need about $800 to cover it and additional late fees. We don’t have any other options except to ask people to boost this post; every dollar helps two disabled trans lesbians get out of a hard situation!! #MutualAid #TransCrowdfund

i didn't think it through very hard at the time lol but that was the initial idea anyway. kinda surprised it hasn't already been done by now

it's too late taylor, i stole the idea of trying to marry ero guro with pop sensibilities like 15 years ago with my choice of online handle/artist name even tho the project didn't really manifest until somewhat recently. throw in the towel, taylor.

Learned that I am being laid off from Heart Machine, and will be leaving the studio later this month.

Do you need a contractor? I've got a track record of leading scope-friendly script revisions late in dev. I have also done a lot of consulting on new IPs and pitches/demos. Feel free to DM me!

Californians, let’s call (916) 445-2841 to tell Newsom’s office to sign the following pro LGBTQ+ rights bills before the deadline:

AB 82/SB 497
AB 1084/SB 59
SB 418
AB 554
AB 728
AB 678
SB 590
SB 450

He hasn't signed the other bills yet, but he still has days to do so
This headline is misleading for not mentioning that.

The gender education veto is bad, but far from the most important trans rights bill on his desk.

There's still time to contact Newsom for the rest!

Albert Brooks had this quote where a friend said to him "why do you have to always take the hard road?" and he said "i only see one road!!" - that's how i feel whenever people try to scrutinize why artists didn't do x or y things for their career to hit the zeitgeist or whatever
ellaguro.bsky.social
i do feel this way especially whenever i listen to a lot of mainstream pop (see: the latest Taylor Swift thing), but also about the way a lot people talk and think about games. you're a genius if you manage to land in that little strip successfully, and a liability if you try to live outside of it
ellaguro.bsky.social
that narrow strip is also continually shifting based on market superstitions and people gradually getting bored of that thing. but we have a society where exploring the vast field makes you a liability but hitting that little strip effectively makes you some sort of world-class widely beloved figure
ellaguro.bsky.social
one thing i consistently struggle to express to some people is there is this vast, infinite field of things you can do with art but the need to appease the market continually focuses everyone on progressively narrower and narrower strips of it. this is especially the case with most mainstream art

One thing about American's widespread distrust and disapproval of the Supreme Court is that mainstream news coverage mostly doesn't dwell on stuff like standing, so people don't even begin to grasp how rigged the Court truly is www.nytimes.com/live/2025/10...

i don't think the problem is that ecosystems reward people being lazy and not trying to market outside their own bubbles, i think it's genuinely just really hard to get people to care about a lot of shit so a lot of people give up. i certainly have been spending a very long time struggling with this
ellaguro.bsky.social
like i'm really not very convinced by the idea that a lot of artists want to be obscure because it makes them look cooler or whatever. a vast majority want to do well. they're just not very trusting that most people will understand or engage with what they're making. and they're often right.
ellaguro.bsky.social
i actively want my art to have a sizeable audience, even if it's not "popular" - and i'm convinced most people are the same way. but the amount of time i've spent posting/blogging/podcasting has in the past made me feel like a fraud who doesn't have the guts or focus to sit down and make more stuff
